The Prisoners’ Lives Matter Pennsylvania Campaign is a nonprofit 501(c)(4) organization whose mission is to educate the public and raise awareness of the importance of the human treatment, transformative rehabilitation, educational opportunities and second chances for all prisoners incarcerated in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
Our Goal
Our goal is to reduce mass incarceration through transformative justice efforts and through lobbying for better policies and legislation that appreciates the humanity of people entering and existing in the criminal justice system!
Our mission
Our mission is important. According to data from the Department of Justice, 95% of those currently incarcerated in the United States will eventually be released from prison. As a society, we should want those returning to our communities after incarceration to come back with less mental trauma, fully rehabilitated and educated. This will help to reduce re-offenses and recidivism!
Building Bridges
Fostering Understanding and Compassion
We want to bridge the gap between prisoners, law makers, stakeholders, advocates, and the wider community. Through shared narratives and experiences, we can gain a deeper understanding of the challenges faced by incarcerated individuals and their families, fostering empathy and compassion.
